oh good Lord, has it really been a week?

okay quick catch-up, since I am apparently horrible at keeping up to pace:

Thursday: dished up bbq casserole for hunny and Nielson, made another hat, surfed craigslist for trailer, pretty much it. Oh. Also started sorting through EVERY SINGLE PAPER in the house so we can get rid of unnecessary items...found stuff from 2003 with hunny's name on it, and buried papers belonging to his two exes...hunny is a packrat... their stuff is tossed, his is in a box to be burned. Clutter is starting to look better!

Friday: sent last of casserole with hunny for him and Nielson, Dan now says he wants in on the lunch action. Hunny has a half-day, so we go to a pull-a-part to find out costs of diesel engines so hunny can customize Bronco, dropped off library books, went to exchange and commissary, went home and didn't feel like making the planned enchiladas so we ate mac and cheese. Didn't do a hat today because wrists were starting to ache from so much crocheting.

Saturday: we slept in, did some more planning and organizing of living spaces and my crafty stuff, hanging out when get a text from Dan saying that poker night was that night and had a $5 buy-in. We discussed if I would go too (didn't wanna play but still wanted out of the house), quickly made the enchiladas and rice (which finished within 40 minutes of us leaving), we ate, I packed a project bag and book, and off we went. Got there a little early so I could plan the week's menu wigh the three guys. While they were chatting I started a hat, everyone else arrived, and 1/3rd of the way through the game I finished the hat. Watched them play. Headache started.

Sunday: headache is gone by morning, hunny lets me sleep in while he studied for ranking exam in bathtub, I awaken, we write out grocery list and hit the commissary. Mostly through commissary, headache returns. Chill at home hoping it goes away, but it doesn't. Packed guys enchiladas and rice, went to bed. Headache intensifies.

Monday: headache never goes away. Hunny studying for exam, head hurts too much to crochet. Get up around 7:30 pm, make Goulash for lunches, dish it out, ate leftover enchilada, went to bed.

Today!: headache totally gone! Got some tips on where to apply for jobs so even though was having massive ADD attacks, I got apps done and submitted. Talked to friend's gf about him having serious drinking issue and he needs some major help, which she needs to try and get him since he has given up on himself. Made sandwich for hunny, sent him off to Plasma place with a kiss and his study book :P. Did another baby hat, packed up last of Goulash for guys, cuddled in bed.

The end!

Been a couple days, but does it matter?

I didn't get to posting yesterday, but I was pretty busy.  I got a little bit of a late start on my baby hat for monday, so had to finish it yesterday as well as do my second one.  However, the Monday hat is stinkin' ADORABLE so that's okay.  Seriously, I want to make one for me.  I also made the bbq chili casserole yesterday evening, and I think that with a few minor adjustments on liquids added, an extra clove of garlic, and nixing the cheese (yes, I actually went there...I am taking OUT cheese *gasp*), it will be perfect!  Hunny was chowing down on it and was very happy to have it for lunch today :).  Yesterday's hat was finished on schedule, embellishments and all, and I also have finished today's too!  This is a good thing because my day has pretty much been turned to crap.  Went out to the kitchen for a drink, and found that the dog had gotten into the garbage and trashed the floor.  After picking it all up and mopping the floor, I sat down and my cat Cisco head-bumped my hand and left a smear of blood...a wound on his cheek reopened so I had to pin him down, put syptic powder all over it, and then put him in the smaller of the two carriers so he couldn't scratch or lick it off.  After THAT I got a call from the hunny saying Public Storage called him and asked if we had moved our car trailer, or were still wanting to rent a space from them.  Seeing as how we haven't TOUCHED the trailer, I went on down there to see what the f*ck was going on, or if they had mixed up our space with someone elses.

Lo and behold, it was gone...the only way you can tell that WE didn't take it was the sandbag we use to hold tires was still there but burst open from being driven over, and I found the drilled out lock part of our trailer ball latch system.  Turns out, a second trailer has been stolen too.  So, we had to file a police report, an insurance report, and a company report.  Now I'm spending my afternoon pouring over Craigslist to see if the dirty rotten thief is being stupid enough to publicly advertise it for sale...if I find it, I get to go and pose as a buyer, check it out, then drive around the block and call the cops and wait for them to show, when I really want to just go and beat their ass for being such a thieving jerk and ripping off hardworking people.

I want pizza...or soft tacos...something that I can stuff my face with and I didn't have to cook, not leftovers...blah.

Another day, but not another dollar

Well, I'm back from the weekend camping trip, and I also come back a completely different person- a 23 yr old person, to be exact lol.  Truth be told, I've had a lot more fun camping in the past...this camping trip consisted of me mainly sitting in the truck while the guys scuba dove because we hadn't arranged what I was supposed to do with keys in case I left to go swimming or something.  Yesterday, after sitting in the truck for 3 hours, bored and hot, I decided "eff it" and went swimming anyways.  The water was a nice 84 degrees and felt soooo good, though I had to keep moving because I was being hunted by a school of perch LOL.  I hadn't bothered putting on sunscreen because I didn't want to wait the 30 min for it to absorb, so I couldn't swim for very long.  I only got a small sunburn on my nose, so I'm happy!  Note to self: next time bring baby wipes...having the lake water sit on my skin COMPLETELY made my chest rash out.  Oh well.

I had originally planned to try and get a couple baby hats done while I was out there, but to no avail.  I didn't have any phone signal so I couldn't look up any patterns to try and base a hat on, and it was also so hot out there my hands were constantly sweaty and grimy from camping grit- definitely not something you want going on when making hats for tiny ones.  So unfortunately, I'm behind my own schedule.  At least tonight we are going to hit the Comm so I can get us our meals for the week and the ingredients for a new dish (a bbq beef casserole).  We are also going to hit the Exchange so I can get "regulation" swim trunks because I prefer swimming in long shorts, not skin-tight "my butt is hanging halfway out" gear, but since the college pool out here requires regulation swimwear and will not allow the gym shorts I've been wearing, I have to get some guy trunks.  Oh well.

Oh!  So I'm not making the dish today because there won't be enough time for us to make and eat it anywhere close to the normal time I try to have dinner ready (in the 7pm range), so we'll be Kraft Mac-ing it tonight, but I WILL be making the dish tomm.  The idea of it is it will basically be a chili mixture with a bbq sauce base, with a layer of cheddar cheese, and then cornbread baked on top of it.  I will put the pix and actual ingredient list up after I twiddle with it, but I think it may work out well, especially for the guys.  Yes, I said guys.  Caleb, aka Nielson, has enjoyed the dishes I make so much that he has made the request that if he pays us each week, will I pack him a lunch as well?  I love cooking for other people so I agreed, but now it has the gears in my head turning about maybe doing boxed lunches on the side lol.  In the meantime, I'm going to stick with my baby hat idea!

My daily routine pretty much looks like: wake up, shower, job hunt and apply to 5-10 jobs, find baby hat pattern, work on hat, make hunny a sandwich for when he does plasma donation [Tues, Thurs] or prep dinner if exercising [Mon, Weds, Fri], work on hat or exercise, cook dinner, eat, pack lunches, do dishes, hang out with hunny while he plays COD and finish hat, then we go to bed.  A little while ago I had to also factor in a once-a-week blood test at the hospital, but now it is down to once a month, YAY! Oh...hmm...I also need to figure out where this blog is going to fit into my scheduling lmao.

Unfortunately, my routine is off today because I slept in after being exhausted from camping trip...no job hunting today and moving on to the baby hats. So, now it's time for me to move on!  Write to you later!

Keeping it simple

The main reason behind this blog is because I spend a lot of time alone every day, and as a result, have way too much time to think.  Seeing as how my life hasn't been all moonlight and roses, this really isn't a good thing.  Also, the economy out here is so bad that I seem to be having a mass amount of difficulty finding a job, so I find myself dwelling on these issues.  Usually what I like to do to unwind is crochet or cook, and if I'm trying to do something positive (though there can be some frustration at times), I go and design new baby hats to crochet or research a bunch of recipes online, take what I like from each, and create something entirely my own.  My friends always end up asking for my recipes, and I'm thinking I'm going to start selling my baby hats on Etsy, so why not combine the two of them on here, and get out what I feel like I need to say all at once?  I think this may end up being a win-win situation for me.

The goals I have for myself lately are: crochet at least one baby hat a day (unless I'm working on another project like a blanket, but even then it would be nice), provide home-cooked dinners and a packed breakfast/lunch for my hunny, and to eventually fill my recipe box with tried and true dishes. I don't always follow these goals ie: yesterday I was trying a new baby hat design and 3/4 of the way through I became frustrated with some errors so I unraveled the whole thing rather than try to fix it, or sometimes hunny and I feel like getting food from Five Guys Burgers and Fries or other places of the sort :).  But, I'm determined to not let this stop me!

Anyways, I'm off to the Commissary to get supplies for our camping trip this weekend!  Chris (aka hunny), 2 of our buddies (Dan and Caleb aka Nielson), and I are going to camp at Lake Tenkiller on Saturday and Sunday because the three of them have been taking a scuba course (I couldn't because of recent health issues/surgery), and this weekend is their open dive certification.  Rather than drive 4-6 hrs each day, we are going to spend the night lake-side.  It's also my birthday tomorrow (23 already? Yikes!), so we plan on doing burgers, brownies, and, I won't lie, a small arsenal of alcohol consisting of rum, vodka, tequila, more rum, more vodka, beer, and Mike's, plus mixers like Pepsi, Coke, OJ, and Red Bull.  Do we plan to get drunk?  Absolutely not!  Do we plan to have fun?  For sure!
